This will be the fourth bottle share hosted by PhillyTapFinder and Philly Beer Scene. Time to change it up a bit. We’re very excited to tell you about it.
This will be a true “beer garden.” The fine folks at the Southwark/Queen Village Community Garden (Christian St. between Third & Fourth) have agreed to open up the garden to us on June 23! If you have never been there, it’s one of the most beautiful spots in Philly.
PhillyTapFinder is a member of the garden; that’s where I grow my hops. This is their fourth year of growth and they have really taken off.
Here are the event details:
Who: You. Everyone is invited; this is not just for uber beer geeks. To participate, don’t feel like you need to have an obscure bottle found in some hidden ruin from the other side of the world or bottle 1 of 1 from a very limited series. Just stop at a local bottle shop. Bring a bottle or two of something that you think others will enjoy. Most people bring large-format bottles.

What: PhillyTapFinder/Philly Beer Scene bottle share IV!
Where: Southwark/Queen Village Community Garden (Christian St. between Third & Fourth). Tables and chairs will be set up in the courtyard area. You are invited to walk around the garden in the paths.
When: Right when your Philly Beer Week hangover has worn off — Sunday, June 23, 4-7pm. We will reschedule in the event of crappy weather.
Why: Because beer is awesome and everyone likes to share.
TICKETS, TICKETS, TICKETS: Tickets can be purchased here for $15 per person. Unfortunately, we had a bunch of no-shows at the last bottle share, which resulted in attendees forking over more money and prevented people on the waiting list from attending. That’s not fair so you now have to buy your ticket in advance. All of the money goes towards food and to the garden as a fundraiser. None of the money goes towards PhillyTapFinder or Philly Beer Scene.
This will be our largest share yet. We have room for 100 people! We are reserving 10 slots for garden members. The first 90 people to get tickets are in. If you do not make the cut, please Jared an email ([email protected]). He will keep a waiting list and will try to facilitate a ticket exchange if a ticket purchaser cannot attend.
Food: We will be ordering wood-fired pizzas from Kennett (right around the corner from the garden). Vegetarian pizzas will be available.
Miscellaneous: We will NOT have glassware available. Please bring your own. We will have some plastic cups just in case. Philly Beer Scene will also have fancy tulip glassware available for purchase the day of the event for $5 (cash only).
